چکیده
Perinatal asphyxia affects almost all the organs in neonates, kidneys being one of commonly affected organs. Early recognition disturbances renal function is important for early intervention to prevent irreversible damage kidneys. Objective: In this study we observed frequency acute kidney injury (AKI) neonates with clinical staging hypoxemic ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) perinatal asphyxia. Methodology: An overall number 145 term admitted at nursery Liaquat University Hospital, Hyderabad from February-2019 july-2019 were included study. Urine output was monitored day and serum creatinine sent on third life. Serum those having low urine output. Results: The average birth weight 2.72±2.67 kg. There 106 (73.1%) males 39 (26.9%) females. Most born via simple vaginal delivery 100 (68.97%) few caesarian section 45 (31.03%). Out 38 (26.21%) stage I, 95 (65.52%) II 12 (8.28%) III HIE. Frequency AKI 55 (37.93%). Incidence significantly high 45(81.8%) as compare I 0(0%) 10(18.2%) (p=0.0005). Conclusion: a common complication Further multicenter based studies large scale need be done identify inter-relationship between maternal factors associated neonatal morbidity mortality. Keywords: Acute injury, asphyxia, hypoxic encephalopathy.

Prevalence and outcomes of acute kidney injury in term neonates with perinatal asphyxia.
BACKGROUND The kidney is the most damaged organ in asphyxiated full-term infants. The severity of its damage is correlated with the severity of neurological damage. We determined the prevalence of perinatal asphyxia-associated acute kidney injury (AKI). METHODS We conducted a prospective cohort study including 60 full-term neonates admitted at the Kenyatta National Hospital newborn unit (NBU)...

Background: The present study aimed to investigate the prevalence of electrolyte imbalance in hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE). Moreover, the correlation of this condition with Apgar score is evaluated. Methods: This prospective observational hospital-based study was conducted on 75 neonates affected by asphyxiation. Immediately (within ...
متن کاملPerinatal Hypoxic-Ischemic Encephalopathy
Perinatal hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) is an important cause of brain injury in the newborn and can result in long-term devastating consequences. Perinatal hypoxia is a vital cause of long-term neurologic complications varying from mild behavioural deficits to severe seizure, mental retardation, and/or cerebral palsy in the newborn. In the mammalian developing brain, ongoing research i...
متن کاملAcute Kidney Injury (AKI) in perinatal asphyxia
Background: Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a common consequence of perinatal asphyxia, occurring in upto 56% of these neonates. It is important to recognize AKI in asphyxiated neonates to facilitate administration of appropriate fluids and electrolytes in order to improve their outcome. Objectives: To determine the incidence of AKI in asphyxiated neonates and to correlate the severity and type of...
